After receiving multiple James Phelan Literary Awards while in college, I officially began my professional writing career in 1983, documenting hardware and software for various companies in Silicon Valley.

During my 11 years as a technical writer at Adobe I was the editor and lead author of the Amazon and New York Times Number One bestselling computer guide, Adobe Photoshop 6 Classroom in a Book.

While at Adobe I returned to college, graduating from Stanford with a Masters of Liberal Arts degree in 2005. My thesis was entitled Psalm 23: A Near East Hero Tale.

From 2005-2006 I lived in London, where I wrote a blog that formed the basis of my book in progress, A Year of Our Own.

I began writing travel articles after returning from London, resulting in cover stories for the Contra Costa Times and the San Antonio Express-News, including a pair of travel articles on London for the latter’s New Year’s Eve edition.
